PTFE & Restructured PTFE Gaskets
For many years, PTFE has been recommended for a variety of sealing applications, particularly where chemical resistance is a critical factor. Macroseal stocks and produces many styles and thicknesses of PTFE and PTFE-added gaskets, sheets and gasket material. Standard PTFE sheets of virgin and repro are cut and shipped daily, as well as the glass-filled PTFE used in applications to decrease cold flow. Newer products in recent years have included restructured PTFE, such as the Gasket Resources (GRI) Durlon 9000 and 9200W, for use against more aggressive chemicals, and the Flexitallic Sigma line (Sigma 500, Sigma 511, Sigma 522/577, Sigma 533, Sigma 588, and Sigma 599), with a biaxially orientated structure, for use in the toughest applications.
- Excellent for use against the most aggressive chemicals
- Styles such as Durlon 9200W and Sigma 533, reinforced with barytes (barium sulphate) are recommended for hydrofluoric acid service
- Restructured PTFE sheets conform to FDA requirements
- Durlon 9000 does not require special processing for oxygen service
- Non-toxic
- Can be produced with narrow cross sections, in a wide variety of shapes
- Highly preferred for use in glass lined, plastic and ceramic flanges
